Choosing Your Dates
What will dictate the beginning of our charter season as well as its end is simply this ~ Water and Weather conditions. Whether you're targeting Salmon, Halibut, Yellow Eye, Rock Fish or Ling Cod: the fish are here.

We are not "date sensitive" as lakes or rivers may be. Our charter fishing season is from mid-May thru early September. You can choose the time of year that you prefer to fish by the Salmon species (King or Coho) you want to target, keeping in mind your ground fish are available all season long.
  • May and June are predominantly King Salmon/Chinook.

  • Early July is an excellent time for a mixed bag; it is the beginning of our Silver Salmon run, with a strong showing of Kings.

  • Mid-July thru August, and early September are predominantly Silver Salmon / Coho, with some quality King Salmon fishing in the mix.

  • September: Predominantly Coho / Silver Salmon.

  • Halibut, Rock Cod, and Yellow Eye are available all season long.

  • Ling Cod opens May 16th through November 30, 2017.

  • During the Ling Cod opening, Ling Cod between 30 to 35 inches may be retained, and 1 Trophy Ling Cod of 55 inches or greater may also be retained.

* Please feel free to call us at (907) 738-3322 for the ADF&G limits on any of these fisheries.

The Southeast Alaska king salmon sport fishery is managed under provisions of the Southeast Alaska King Salmon Management Plan (5 AAC 47.055). This plan prescribes management measures based upon the preseason abundance index determined by the Chinook Technical Committee of the Pacific Salmon Commission. The preseason abundance index for the 2015 season is 2.57 which equates to 81,353 king salmon allocated to the sport fishery. The Southeast Alaska King Salmon Management Plan prescribes the regulations listed above when the king salmon abundance index is above 2.00.
